01 Sep EXHIBITION: Whiskey, God and Women
Whiskey, God and Women is a culmination of ten years of introspection featuring the artwork of Rodney “BUCK!” Herring. In this mixed-media exhibition, Herring highlights the tensions he must manage as a Black man in America, “I love, but have been conditioned to love only one way and I know that conditioning is a lie, yet I continue to follow it and have to fight that turmoil to end up sitting in the same space wondering what to do. Being a black man in America is a contradiction in itself. I must be one way and must think in one way, but my experiences and time have taught me differently.”
Curated by Risikat “Kat” Okedeyi, this is the first exhibition to be featured in the new MilkBoy ArtHouse space as part of its partnership with The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. RSVP below for the opening brunch event Sunday, September 3rd from 1pm-4pm.
In partnership with The Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts and MilkBoy ArtHouse this exhibition will through September 29th at MilkBoy ArtHouse in College Park, MD.
