Let’s see what’s popping in these celestial skies. On April 3rd, Venus (Oshun) left her happy home of Taurus to skip through Gemini’s neighborhood for the next three months. She normally hangs out for a month and a week per sign, but she has some real community tending that needs to happen, so she is going to hold up here (retrograde through part of May). Look for folks to be in extra need of experiencing community bonds via funerals, graduation parties, weddings, and cookouts – Coronavirus Edition.

Many folks saw the videos and social media posts about there being a worldwide mediation happening on April 4th/5th, 2020 since Jupiter (Obatala – blessings and protection) was conjoining Pluto (Aganju -fiery destruction) in Capricorn which rules government, big business, and industry. And Although Saturn (Ogun-discipline) has moved into Aquarius, he is still close enough to lend his energy to Jupiter and Pluto. Since Jupiter expands, Pluto both destroys and regenerates, and Saturn crystallizes, the hope has been that enough people could hold the frequency of love thereby healing our planet and changing the trajectory of the Coronavirus.

This is just the first conjunction in a series of three. We have two more to contend with before November is done. Hopefully, this will have something to do with democracy actually functioning as it should with fair and transparent elections this Fall, or the world learning how to deal with this virus in such a way that it does not come back to terrorize us when the Global North descends back into the colder depths of Fall once again.

On April 7th, 2020 we have a Full Moon (Yemonja-nurturing) in Libra which rules relationships, balance, beauty, and justice. Unfortunately, this full moon is square which is causing “all the feels” between her, and Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn. Makes sense as Libra is the cheerleader of “can’t we all just get along – group hug” and all the government authorities are demanding that we remain “socially distant”-the very antithesis of a Libra’s ethos. In Mister’s (aka Albert) father’s voice from the movie The Color Purple, Libras “…yous has my sympathies”. Full Moons will bring issues to the surface, but because this one is in Libra, it’s to hopefully figure things out. Like the happy birthday drivebys currently happening with families to support their elders.

Although my charge is to point out what’s up with the Moon, I can’t ignore the fact that Mars (Shango) that thunderous energy in Aquarius which governs rebellions, revolutions, and organizations is squaring off with Uranus (Oya) the whirlwind of sudden and dramatic change in Taurus which rules real estate, farming, and the sensual pleasures of life. All these restaurant, grocery store and Amazon workers are striking to demand fair treatment and better compensation for the exposure they are facing just trying to perform their jobs without hopefully compromising their own health and well being.

On April 11th, 2020 Mercury (Elegba) enters Aries which rules pioneering efforts. This is good because it had been held up in Pisces giving folks the run around while it was retrograde last month. People were stuck climbing through the deep murky waters of Olokun trying to create a plan with no real sight. With this move into Aries, it will be like clearing out of a fog bank and seeing land.

On April 14th, the Sun (Orunmila) squares Pluto (Aganju) and one day later, the Sun (Orunmila) squares Jupiter. The Sun brings to life or light how we individually have allowed governments and big business to make decisions that may, or may have not been in our best interest because it was easier to let them have control as long as we were able to hold onto our little place in the pecking order and have our latest piece of diversion delivered in two days-environment and poor working conditions be damned. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to hold 2020’s beer anymore. You got this homie!
