astro.NOIR: Full Moon in Scorpio, May 2020. TRANSLATION | “Let me holla at you Shawty before the streetlights come on.”

"Welcome to the Neighborhood" by Risikat Okedeyi

FIRST – Let me just say I felt ALL THE LOVE from my social media fam in addition to my real-life family and friends as May the 4th (force) is always with me, lol.  In addition to this day being my Solar Return, the Sun/Oludumare (life force) was brought in vitality while kicking it [conjunct] with Mercury/Ellegba (communication) bringing all the tidings of good wishes for a blessed New Year – I am grateful. Since this meet-up happened in Taurus, you may have had a much-needed clarifying conversations around what should be done about a housing, property or an employment concern.

While that may have made a clearing in one area of your life, Venus/Oshun (pleasure) is in lively Gemini wanting very much to hang out in the downtown clubs fliting between parties, but she is feeling a little salty [square] towards her big brother Neptune/Olokun (inspiration) in Pisces because he is gathering all her edges. He is saying stuff like “Girl, you need to get it together, figure out what you want out of life.  Stop bouncing from one good time to the next.” Because she is about turn retrograde in Gemini, this family discussion is being drawn out between now and the first week of June.  Things will temporarily resolve with a revisit to this conversation from July 19 – July 29, 2020.

It can feel like a confusing time because Venus/Oshun (sensuality) usually operates like a smaller version of her big brother Neptune/Olokun (at oneness).  But she moves in the everyday realm, whereas he moves in the unseen realms.  Neither of them has fiery energy so this transit can cause you to stew and lament. It would be great if Neptune/Olokun was clear in his communication but instead he is “Fogmiester Supreme”. His vocabulary is omens, signs, dreams, intuition and instinct.  Although Venus/Oshun (romance) is in Gemini, one of the most social signs, Neptune/Olokun (agape) is at home in the depths of Pisces’s ocean inviting her to settle down and “in-volve” so that she can evolve.  This is a time for you to come away from the 50-11 zoom dance parties and figure out what relationships you would like to upgrade, and to identify what improvements you can make in the ways you communicate your desires.

The very next day on May 5, 2020, the Lunar Nodes of the moon changed signs, and the North Node/Orunmila (destiny) walked into Mecury/Ellegba’s hood of Gemini, and the South Node/Eshu (karma) entered Jupiter/ Obatala’s mansion of Sagittarius. The nodes are what cause the Solar and Lunar eclipses every six months and bring triple the power of whatever moon they are impacting. These sets are due to last until January 2022 and will impact all things related to siblings, cousins, multiple levels of learning, communication, publishing, religion, law, medicine, and short and long-distance travel. This means we will feel the first set next month, but also know that eclipses can be felt up to a month before all the way until a month after they occur.

On May 7, 2020, the Full Moon/Yemonja (psychic) sinks deeply into the bogs of Scorpio [opposing] Mercury/Ellegba (verboseness) in Taurus’s meadows and [trines] Neptune/Olokun (inspiration) living his best life in his own watery home of Pisces. This also sets up a [sextile] between Mercury/Ellegba (communication) and Neptune/Olokun (transcendence).

Oppositions can be tricky because they are asking to you address the same frequencies at two different vibratory rates.  In other words, Moon/Yemonja (nurturing) is encouraging you to use your psychic abilities to tunnel down into the core of a situation for information that will be transforming while Mercury/Ellegba (communication) is like “I got time” encouraging you to post up in the yard and chop it up with your peeps about something of value. Meanwhile the trine between the Moon/Yemonja (psychic) and Neptune/Olokun (subconscious) operates like an open door suggesting that you will find inspiration in the information that is unearthed.  And the sextile between Neptune/Olokun (transcendence) and Mercury/Ellegba (explanation) is like a cool breeze on a summer day. The words will come helping you express this unearthed information in newly inspiring and beneficial ways.

A Serving of “Head’s Up”

Three planets will be turning retrograde the second week of May joining Pluto/Ajagun (transformation) and the asteroid Juno/Het-Heru (marriage). Retrogrades are invitations to turn back and review. It’s not a time to initiate new projects ruled by certain planetary energies as you will not have full access to said energy.  We stay in a season of retrogrades with multiple major planets from June through November 2020. It will feel like slogging through mud after a landslide. Pace yourself this year so you don’t have multiple exasperated meltdowns.

On May 11thSaturn/Ogun (discipline) goes retrograde in Aquarius back into Capricorn to finish off his karmic review of governments and big industry, then turns direct, finishing out the year back in Aquarius which will last until 2023. Aquarius is all about the people and the causes they stand behind. Saturn/Ogun is asking society to do the heavy lifting of creating the world they want to live in because he and Pluto/Ajagun (death) have already revealed the corruption of allowing those in politics and industry to control the resources and the narrative.

On May 13th, Venus/Oshun (fun times) goes retrograde in Gemini. The last time Venus was retrograde in Gemini was May-June 2012. What was going on in your life back then? You can expect similar situations to pop off. I already shared with you the “lens” that will color this transit in the paragraph above.

On May 14th, Jupiter/Obatala (expansion) goes retrograde in Capricorn. We will witness the role of the government shrinking in some way during this time.  Jupiter/Obatala (benefit) also meets Pluto for the 2nd time on June 30, 2020.  The last time they were conjunct was March 29th, 2020. Perhaps it will be to address another round of stimulus payments, or maybe there will be more scientific information regarding the Coronavirus leading to better approaches for managing the pandemic. Jupiter/Obatala (blessings) will stay retrograde until September 13, 2020.  My goodness, the heavens are busy this month. Go hard this week, then coast into late fall.  Hopefully 2021 will be a “Bae” year, because this one is taking no shorts with issuing that cosmic comeuppance. Peace
