astro.NOIR: New Moon in Gemini 2020 Trine a Rack of Planets – TRANSLATION – “Who all over there at the Cookout?”

"Minding + Tending" by Risikat Okedeyi

Just as the closest planet to the Sun is Mercury which rules communication and early learning, the first Orisha to receive our energy in veneration is Ellegba because he carries our prayers to heaven and opens the roads for us to move freely. Because Mercury/Ellegba (quick wit) spends approximately 3 weeks in a sign he is not always in his home sign of Gemini when there is a new Moon in Gemini [Sun conjuncting a new Moon]. Also, he retrogrades 3 times a year for approximately 3 weeks. That’s when conversations go left, cell phones die, and it’s best to move into “revise” mode. We aren’t due for that until the second half of June, but I thought I would light a little fire under that behind so you get a move on before the energy shifts. He is a trickster and master storyteller that slays egos helping folks to stop taking themselves so seriously as we are all here to learn, laugh, live and love.

This new Moon/Yemonja (nurturing) is making the potato salad while the Sun/Oldumare (vitality) is getting the grill going in the parking lot of the neighborhood community center. They like, “Just cause we

gotta social distance, don’t mean we can’t still find ways to be in community.” We find Mercury/Ellegba, Mr. All-the-Tea, hanging tight [conjunctVenus/Oshun (pleasure) during the new moon so it’s all about “Summertime” blasting on the speakers as they catch up on all the neighborhood shenanigans. Venus/Oshun is retrograde, so she is acting a bit more demure than usual. Gemini rules siblings, short trips, village life so these are the areas where you may see this love. Meanwhile, Neptune/Olokun (transcendence) is [squaring them] hanging out the window from the building across the parking lot acting shady and holding up posters about spending more time in reflection and contemplation. Bish-please…Give us, us free.

The invitation already made it to the surrounding neighborhoods. You got Pluto/Agajun (power) and Jupiter/Obatala (benefit) in Capricorn which handles governmental affairs and corporations and Saturn/Ogun (structure) with the asteroid Pallas-Athena/Ma’at (justice) in Aquarius which shows the movements of a people with a cause and they are all retrograde! Yes, that’s right, all of these planets are traversing back over the ground they’ve covered, and they are asking you to do the same. They are [trine] flowing with Mercury and Venus so they are def trying to come through for a plate and holla at everyone.

An area of concern is Mars/Shango (inflammation) [conjunct] being bound to the asteroid Ceres/Auset (mothering) at this time in Pisces which rules confinement in placers such as hospitals, prisons, and in 2020, our homes. Thanks, Neptune/Olokun(disillusion), for making sure we all KNOW that you are King, and you are sitting in your own sign of Pisces-we are definitely feeling you. This is a very uncomfortable transit for Mars/Shango (aggression) as he is fire, and Pisces is water. There may be many parents who are extremely frustrated with the lack of a transition for the children from school to summer break, or worse, the lack of summer camps to send children to this summer. It could also

show-up as mothers needing to rescue their children from illnesses that deal with inflammation.

All I can say is figure out a way to get them zoom-based spades games poppin’, stay away from Grammy and Pop-pop, but call them often so they know you care, and express your love to your family and friends because at the end of the day, it’s all we have that truly matters. Peace
