Presented by Tastemakers Africa, The Thread | Conversations Beyond The Return is a traveling series of conversations unpacking the potential for Pan-Africanism in a post-“Year of Return” moment for the culture. Since its inception as an in-person event in Washington, DC The Thread has gone virtual reaching nearly 4,000 people from 40+ countries.
Africa Day Festival
This edition of The Thread is being held as a part of the inaugural Africa Day Festival in collaboration with Amplify Africa. The Festival includes a Pre-Party on May 23 (which you can get access to via The Thread ticketing page), The Thread Vol. 4 on May 24, and the Africa Day Summit on May 25. As part of the all-day line up, LSP founder, Risikat “Kat” Okedeyi will co-lead a special session on spiritual space and ritual.
“Chuuch!”: A Space for Ritual and Worship
Following up from the initial virtual edition of The Thread, panelists Risikat “Kat” Okedeyi and Madame Ketari lead a Spirit-centered discussion around the importance and creation of ritual, sacred space and tips for your spiritual toolkit. Attendees should have note-taking materials and a glass of water on hand to be used in a unified group practice.
